Backstage, Josh Mathews interviewed Sheamus. Sheamus talked about how his pride made him think that Nexus would never try to attack him the way they attacked others. Sheamus said that last Monday, he saw that the Nexus had no soul, and so he had to chose a side, which he did. Sheamus then talked about how he hates John Cena, and that he has never gotten respect for the times he has beaten him. Sheamus talked about Cena’s constant jokes about his skin tone, and how Cena won’t be making jokes tonight in the cage.

July 17th 3 Count: Money In The Bank Predictions

Whose mettle will prevail inside the steel cage?

John Cena thrives inside steel structures, outlasting five opponents – including Sheamus – in an Elimination Chamber Match this past February to win the sixth of seven WWE Championships.

Cena has never beaten Sheamus one-on-one for the WWE Title. The Celtic Warrior’s last reign ended during the aforementioned title bout at Elimination Chamber, but it was Triple H who scored the pinfall that took the Irish Brawler out of the fight.

Sheamus’ current title reign can largely be attributed to The Nexus, which clobbered Cena at Fatal 4-Way. But the Irishman has since made himself a target as well, having helped his rival fight off the group on Raw. The steel cage should protect both competitors from a retaliatory attack, but it will also create a level playing field – something the diabolical Dubliner is less than familiar with.

Prediction: Just days after he was overpowered by six members of The Nexus in a Handicap Match, a fired-up Cena will be looking to vent his frustrations against Sheamus inside the confines of the cage, winning his tenth World Championship in the process.

July 16th August 2010 Power Wrestling Magazine Scans

As promised here are 08 exclusivePower Wrestling” magazine scans. Not only was Sheamus featured inside the magazine but he was also featured on two posters. Check them out, it’s definitely worth it.

I also took the time to translate and write down this small article about Sheamus they had in the magazine. Enjoy!

Ireland’s first WWE Champion

He is THE breakout star of this first half year. Though, his rapid rise actually began at the end of last year when Sheamus unexpectedly won the WWE Championship from John Cena just months after his debut on Monday Night Raw!

A lot of people thought his title win on December 13th, 2009 was just short-termed, however, during the past six months the “Celtic Warrior” proved his skeptics wrong. After Randy Orton’s faceturn and Batista retiring, Sheamus took over their places as the top heel.

In Pro-Wrestling one can only celebrate victories if they get the chance to. After Sheamus had lost the title, he wasn’t sent back to the undercard in fact he was set to face multiple time Champion, Triple H. Because of good performance at WrestleMania 26, he scored his next big victory just a month later. The Celtic Warrior even send his rival in a mandatory break.

Whoever thinks now that Sheamus had luck or sucked up to the right people should listen to the words of William Regal: “ I watch his career very keenly, because just shortly after his arrival he searched direct contact with me. We traveled together and he asked lots of questions. Actually, every young Superstar should try to get some advice from Veterans and try to learn from them. Sheamus did not waste his time with going out, playing video games or sending out text messages. He wanted to know everything about the business. In today’s time I find this very remarkable, because, unfortunately, most of the young guys think less professionally. ”

Inside the squared circle, Sheamus has already shown decent performances and he also knows how to impress on the mic. He might not be the most popular Superstar but his push is definitely not unwarranted. We’re convinced that there’s a lot more success to come for Sheamus, Fella!

WWE Champ will hold court Saturday

Since the days of Hulk Hogan, the WWE Championship has been hotly contended.

The half-sport/half-entertainment spectacle that is professional wrestling is full of champions losing and regaining the belt as well as heroes, villians, grudge matches, rivalries, betrayals and all the stuff that makes for great TV.

Since his debut last year, current WWE Champion Sheamus has held the title twice. And he says he won’t let John Cena take it from him again.

Born in Dublin, the champ is quite recognizable by his flame-red, spiky hair and goatee as well as his pale-white complexion.

Along with all the other superstars and divas from WWE’s “Raw” and “Smackdown,” Sheamus will be in the ring on Saturday at Qwest Center Omaha.

Before arriving in town, Sheamus called in from Florida to talk professional wrestling, being the champ, this weekend’s event and his action figure.

Q: What’s being the WWE Champion like?

A: It’s the best feeling in the world. When you spend your whole life with one goal in mind and you achieve that goal twice in one year, it’s phenomenal. It’s all worthwhile. I couldn’t be happier.

Q: What about being the first Irish-born champion in the WWE?

A: I think it’s very important. It’s great to be the first of anything. It also shows the way the company is going. It’s expanding globally. This year, we’re going to China; we go to Japan every year; we go to Australia, New Zealand and Europe a couple times a year. We’re pretty much expanding all the time and it shows that it’s now become more of a global company. There’s more opportunities for global WWE entertainers out there.
