November 21st Survivor Series Coverage

- DigitalsScreen Captures -

Josh Mathews interviewed Sheamus., who said that the entire issue is that he’s been WWE champion and Morrison never will be. He said that for all the talks of bullies, he’s not going to shove Morrison into a locker or a toilet, but he’s going to break Morrison’s body and spirit.

SHEAMUS vs. JOHN MORRISON

They began fighting immediately. Sheamus was tossed from the ring, where Morrison hit a corkscrew dive. Sheamus cut Morrison off and began working him over. He locked in a side chinlock. Morrison began fighting his way out but Sheamus clobbered him down to the mat and continued working over him.

Sheamus worked over Morrison’s chest with a series of brutal shots but Morrison kicked out. Morrison fought to regain his footing but was taken out again. Sheamus deposited him on the top turnbuckle but Morrison began nailing a series of rights. Sheamus absorbed them and began beating Morrison across the back. He went for a superplex but Morrison came back and nailed several forearms to take Sheamus out.

November 21st The Ross Report: J.R. Mentions Sheamus

In his latest Ross Report blog, Jim Ross talks about Sheamus. Here’s what he had to say:

Sheamus has yet to touch upon his potential even though he knows what its like to be WWE Champion. Sheamus may be a touch psychotic but he’s government mule tough, as well. John Morrison, at times, in his career has reminded me of a young HBK but Sheamus beats the Shaman of Sexy at Survivor Series. Morrison’s best chance to beat the Irishman is to get in and stay in Sheamus’ head but I don’t see that happening during this big money match on pay per view.

John Morrison has thwarted Sheamus’ many attempts to antagonize the much smaller (and decidedly non-confrontational) Santino Marella on Raw, so it’s likely The Celtic Warrior will be thirsty for vengeance when he battles The Monday Night Delight at Survivor Series.

Just 24 hours after the red brand’s devastating loss to Team SmackDown at WWE Bragging Rights, Sheamus was even more cantankerous than usual. Looking for an outlet to vent his numerous frustrations, the irate Irishman challenged Santino – whom he viewed as an “embarrassment” and Team Raw’s weak link – to a match that very night on Raw. To the WWE Universe’s (and Santino’s) surprise, it was The Italian Stallion whose hand was ultimately raised in victory when Morrison interfered on his behalf, saving Santino from Sheamus’ infamous Brogue Kick and helping the comical Superstar score a surprise pinfall.

This upset loss didn’t sit well with the ginger-headed juggernaut, who made it his mission to torment Santino at every turn, both in and out of the ring. Disapproving of Sheamus’ bullying tactics, Morrison has taken it upon himself in recent weeks to protect Santino from the devious Dubliner’s attacks. But The Shaman of Sexy will need to rely solely on his natural athleticism and parkour expertise to protect himself from the two-time WWE Champion at Survivor Series.

Will Morrison take Sheamus for a ride on Starship Pain? Or will The Celtic Warrior’s brute strength and relentless in-ring style prevail? To find out, tune in to Survivor Series this Sunday, only on pay-per-view.

November 19th Barrett About History With Sheamus & Wanting To Work With Him

The Baltimore Sun has a Question & Answer Interview with newcomer Wade Barrett up on their website in which the british Superstar, amongst other topics talks about his history with fellow WWE Superstars Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. Barrett also talks about wanting to work a program with the two. Here’s what he had to say:

I met Sheamus and Drew I think it was in early 2006. We started doing a lot of shows together out in Ireland and across the U.K. The thing about the three of us was that I knew immediately that we were all standout guys, mainly based on our height. We were way bigger than any of the guys in the U.K. and we all looked good, we all worked out, which was quite rare for the U.K. at the time. Most of the independent wrestlers didn’t even lift weights or anything like that, so I knew that we looked like stars compared to everyone else. But I thought the problem at that time was the fact that with WWE there had never been that many foreign guys in the company at any one time. They always tended to have maybe one Englishman like a William Regal or going back further they just had The British Bulldog when I was a kid. So I thought it was going to be very difficult that all three of us would get signed. I thought maybe one of us might get signed and one of us may get a shot with WWE if we were lucky. I certainly never expected all three of us to get there. Sheamus, on the other hand, I remember him talking to us back in probably 2006 when we were still on the independent scene, he was very confident that one day all three of us were going to get there. So he predicted it.

In terms of working a program with those guys, I would love to. The problem is at the moment all three of us are guys that the crowd generally doesn’t like, so I don’t know how many people would want to see a Sheamus versus Wade Barrett match or a Wade Barrett against Drew McIntyre match being that the crowd is going to hate both guys in the match. But I could see one day certainly with Sheamus the fans really getting behind him. He’s got a very unique look and a good style as well. I think one day he’s definitely going to be a crowd favorite, and when that happens, I definitely look to lock horns with him and see where we can go.
