Back from the break, Sheamus, Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes make their entrances, and the match starts.

Randy Orton & Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett & Cody Rhodes

Sheamus and Cody Rhodes start things off for their respective teams. They lock up, but Sheamus quickly overpowers. The ref breaks up when they go the ropes, and Cody tries to use the distraction, kicking Sheamus’ leg and locking a front facelock, but Sheamus just lifts and drops him. Cody then backs up to his corner, and tags Wade Barrett in. Barrett enters and kicks Sheamus in the gut, following with a elbow to the back of the head, punches and elbows. Sheamus tries to fight back, reverses Barrett’s whip and hits an elbow to the side of the head. Cover and a two count. Sheamus then goes for his 10 hammer clubs on the apron, and follows with a suplex for a one count. Sheamus tries a scoop powerslam but Wade escapes and hits a side kick to the gut. Barrett follows that with a running forearm attack for a one count. Barrett delivers knees to the back and clubs to the torso, followed by a stretch submission. Sheamus stands up and fights back, countering Barrett’s hold. He then tags Orton in, who enters delivering his clotheslines and powerslam sequence. He goes for the apron DDT and hits it. He quickly signals for the RKO. Rhodes tries to interfere by using a top rope move, but Orton counters and hits a gutwrench elevated neckbreaker. The distraction is enough, though, as Barrett is able to hit a big boot to get back on track, as we go for a break.

Back from the break, Cody Rhodes dominates Randy Orton with stomps as Christian is looking on from ringside. Cody hits a gourdbuster for a two count. Barrett is tagged in and fires away at Orton as Rhodes holds his arms. After some abuse, Orton fights back and they exchange fists for a little. Orton runs the ropes but ends up eating a kitchen sink knee. Barrett tags Rhodes in, who stomps Orton’s head. Cody follows with a butterfly lock as Christian applauds. Orton powers out and back body drops Rhodes, who tags Barrett in. Barrett enters and delivers a forearm that knocks Sheamus from the apron, not allowing Orton to tag him in. The ref has to restrain Sheamus from entering the ring and that distraction allows Rhodes to enter and he and Barrett stomp away at Orton for a short while. Barrett covers but only gets two. He stands Orton up and hits a swing neckbreaker followed by a knee drop for two. Barrett then locks a headlock. After some time, Orton stands up and fights back, dodging a clothesline and hitting his inverted facelock backbreaker. Both guys tag out, and Sheamus comes firing away at Rhodes with double-arm clotheslines and hammer clubs to the back. He hits a turnbuckle clothesline and a top rope shoulder block. Barrett tries to interfere but Sheamus throws him out of the ring. He signals for the Brogue Kick, but Christian gets his attention with one of his crutches. Sheamus comes close and Christian hits him with it, causing the DQ.

Winners: Sheamus and Randy Orton via disqualification

Immediately after the match ends, Rhodes hits the Beautiful Disaster kick on Sheamus. Orton tries to get Christian outside but Barrett jumps him from behind, slamming him against the barricade, and then he and Rhodes work on Sheamus. Barrett asks Christian for the crutch, gives it to Cody Rhodes, and goes to work on Orton. Rhodes though eats a Brogue Kick by Sheamus, who uses the crutch to beat down Barrett when he comes back to the ring. Orton enters the ring and delivers RKO on Wade Barrett. Sheamus then hits the Celtic Cross on Rhodes. Sheamus and Orton celebrate as the show ends.

WWE.COM: What Superstars could hang with The Celtic Warrior?

SHEAMUS: Bret “Hit Man” Hart, Andre the Giant — for obvious reasons, “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

WWE.COM: Three legends right there. Any method to how you chose them?

SHEAMUS: I need to have a technician in the group. Bret’s always been great. Macho Man’s the high-flyer. Andre, well, let’s be honest, he’s The Giant. Probably the most famous giant ever. Not too many people came out of fights with him unscathed. I think the only way to get him out of the match is if he eliminated himself or got counted out.

WWE.COM: Who else?

SHEAMUS: One more, right?

WWE.COM: Yeah.

SHEAMUS: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

WWE.COM: Obvious question, but why him?

SHEAMUS: Because he’s an a**kicker like meself. If it gets down to 5-on-2 you need someone who is very good at fighting uphill battles and there’s no better man.

November 12th Smackdown Results – 11/11/2011

Digital Photos Screen Captures

Orton drops Christian straight away with a punch, but Barrett attacks Orton, and he and Christian dominate The Viper until Sheamus runs in for the save. Sheamus removes Christian’s neckbrace, and he and Orton clean house. Teddy Long tells them to hold on a second. He tells Christian now that he clearly is healthy (saying that the only problem Christian has in his back and neck are that he is spineless), he will face off Sheamus like he should have done last week, next. As for our main event, we will have a captain vs. captain match, Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett. We go for a break, and Sheamus vs. Christian is next.

Sheamus vs. Christian

They lock up to start. Sheamus with a side headlock. Christian pushes him off, ducks his attack two times, but ends up eating a shoulder block. Christian stands up signaling to his neck, talking to Sheamus before hitting a slap. Sheamus gets mad and starts hammering away at Christian with hammer clubs and knees. After that, he grabs Christian and gives him some hammer fists on the apron. He puts Christian back in the ring from over the top rope, covers but only gets a two count. Sheamus whips Christian, who baseball slides and hits a slap. Christian hits the ropes but ends up countered with a back body drop. Sheamus smashes Christian’s head against the turnbuckle and lay some punches to Captain Charisma’s stomach. After that, he whips to the corner twice, and hits a military press drop. Christian rolls out asking for a timeout. Sheamus chases him. Christian gets in the ring again and tries to take advantage, but the Celtic Warrior fights him off. He tries a suplex, but Christian fights off. He speeds up but eats a counter shoulder block to the gut, and a springboard shoulder block. Christian rolls out of the ring again. Sheamus chases him once more, slamming his head against the announce table. But when he grabs Christian in Oklahoma position and runs towards the steel post, Christian escapes and pushes him. Christian puts Sheamus back in the ring again, and goes second rope, hitting a missile dropkick for a one count. After that, Christian hits some punches while Sheamus is down. Sheamus comes back, but Christian holds the ropes down and Sheamus goes outside. Christian tries a vaulting body press, but Sheamus catches him and hits a fallaway slam on the barricade.

Back from the break, Christian lands some elbows to the back of Sheamus’ neck, followed by a headlock. After some time, Sheamus stands up and fights back. Christian cuts him off though, and hits a hard slap from outside. Sheamus pushes him and tries to throw Christian off of the ring, but Christian lands on the apron and counters a clothesline with a hotshot backbreaker. Christian goes top rope, but Sheamus counters his aerial assault with a punch to the gut. Christian hits another hard slap, but Sheamus reverses his whip and he smashes against the turnbuckle. Both stay down for a while. Sheamus stands up and hits two double-arm clotheslines. He follows with several clubs to the back, a clothesline and a tilt-a-whirl scoop powerslam. He gets a nearfall for his efforts. Sheamus goes for another clothesline, but Christian escapes and runs towards the corner. Sheamus chases him, but Christian kicks him in the gut and goes for a springboard sunset flip. He can’t bring Sheamus down though, and the Great White picks him up and pushes him to the corner. Christian again counters an incoming charge and tries for another springboard sunset flip but this time Sheamus counters it into the Irish Curse for another nearfall. Sheamus tries to hit the Celtic Cross but Christian escapes and hits a slap. He goes top rope, but Sheamus catches him mid-air for another fallaway slam. Sheamus hits a clothesline on the corner, and then a knee to the jaw. Sheamus goes to the apron, Christian tries to hold his foot, but Sheamus punches him away and comes back. Christian hits a kick on Sheamus’ knee. Following with a dropkick. Christian goes top rope again, but Sheamus blocks with clubs. Sheamus climbs the second rope, but Christian fights him off and goes down. Christian hits an elbow, a hanging overhead kick and a tornado DDT for a nearfall. Sheamus hits a kick to Christian’s knee, climbs the top rope in acrobatic fashion and hits a shoulder block for another nearfall. Sheamus singals for the Brogue Kick. Christian ducks and tries a Killswitch. Sheamus pushes him off. Christian goes for a Spear but Sheamus gets out of the way, and Christian hits the second turnbuckle. Sheamus sets up the Celtic Cross, hits it, and this one is over.

Winner: Sheamus via pinfall

After the match, Sheamus celebrates while Christian picks up his neckbrace and puts it back on. The announcers plug the main event of Orton vs. Barrett. We go for a break.

Backstage, Sheamus is interviewed about his “hothead” fame, as footage from his recent actions are shown. Sheamus says that he is the opposite of that, he’s generally a nice guy, presenting awards at MTV EMA, talking to Muppets’ Beaker, and etc. Matt Striker says that when someone crosses Sheamus, he is known to have a bad temper. Sheamus stares at Striker for a while, then laughs and says that he’s spirited. Sheamus leaves and Strikers looks relieved.

November 10th Sheamus: “The Undertaker’s my ginger idol ”

WWE star Sheamus has told how his dream match would be against The Undertaker — and revealed that the wrestling legend is a fellow redhead.

The 33-year-old from Dublin has already enjoyed a number of career highs, not least becoming the first ever man from the UK or Ireland to become a WWE world heavyweight champion.

Now he has his sites for 2012 set on Taker.

Sheamus told Fighting Spirit Magazine: “I’ve mixed it up with a lot of people — Randy Orton, John Cena, Triple H and Shawn Michaels — but a match with Undertaker would be fantastic.

“It would be two gingers knocking lumps out of each other. He tries to hide it, but he’s a ginger.

“He’s someone who’s never faltered and is stronger now than he ever was.”

Sheamus also revealed how he loves being a good guy in WWE, after spending most of his career playing a heel.

The Irishman added; “It’s strange, I’m really enjoying myself. I’ve been able to let my guard down and really get into it, without getting my back against the wall.

“I got used to the fans throwing abuse at me, but I’m feeling a lot more like me out there now. The most important thing is getting a reaction — whether you’re getting booed or cheered.

“I loved getting booed and beating on Cena, Orton and Triple H, but the fans are cheering me now.

“As long as the reaction is strong, positive or negative, I’ll be happy. When the arena goes quiet and there’s crickets in your ear, that’s when I’ll start worrying.”

November 9th WWE stars visit Anfield

Two of the WWE’s biggest stars visited Anfield today ahead of their Smackdown World Tour show at the Liverpool Echo arena.

Sheamus and Ted DiBiase Jr took time out of their preparations for tonight’s event to take in a stadium and museum tour.

Both the competitors are fanatical football fans – but for Sheamus the experience held extra significance due an allegiance to LFC he’s held since growing up in Dublin.

“It’s been brilliant – I’ve felt like a little kid walking around,” he beamed when chatting to Liverpoolfc.tv. “I’ve just been in the museum and been around the whole stadium. Liverpool are the football club I’ve supported ever since I was a kid.

“I’ve always loved them. They had four great Irish players – Whelan, Houghton, Staunton and Aldridge. I particularly loved Ronnie Whelan, I thought he was a great player.

“My uncle was a big Liverpool fan and he’d always come over to our house and bring me video tapes. I remember picking up the official history of Liverpool FC video, which ran from the very beginning until just after we won the double (in 1986). I must have watched that tape about twice a day – it was great.

“It gave me great inspiration and I fell in love with the history of the club and everything about it – and the rest is history.

“That’s what I was drawn towards and in the school playground I’d be pretending to be my favourite player. It’s really special for me to be here.”

The duo enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of Anfield, which included a trip to the home-team dressing room, a walk down the world-famous tunnel and a chance to sit in the Kop.

And, as an extra treat, the WWE stars were allowed the chance to get their hands on Old Big Ears herself, the European Cup – much to their delight.

“This is unbelievable – it’s a real treat for me,” said DiBiase. “I know this was Sheamus’s trip, but today is also my birthday.

“Sheamus knows I love football and grew up playing it. I was heavily involved in it back home in the States and almost made the national team at one point, so this is great.

“It’s a huge deal because it’s the first time we’ve filmed a TV show from Liverpool. It’s going to be viewed in 145 different countries.

“It’s exciting because our European fans, and our fans in Liverpool especially, are super fun to perform in front of. There’s always a great atmosphere and it’s always a real treat for us as performers.

“I’m really looking forward to it. I know tickets are still available, so if anyone out there wants to come they’ve still got a chance – but it won’t last long.”

Sheamus added: “It’s great to be coming back to Liverpool. We’ve been here a couple of times for live events, but now we’re doing television here. It’s always a big deal for us to come over to the UK, especially for me as I am from Dublin. It’s very special.”

Sheamus presented the award for Best Male to Justin Bieber at MTV’s European Music Awards on Sunday in Belfast, Ireland.

“It was a great expderience. It was great fun. There were a lot of huge pop stars — Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and I gave the Best Male award to Bieber. It was a great honor to present this,” The Celtic Warrior told WWE.com. “I watched MTV ever since I was a teenager. I was delighted to get an opportunity to do it.”

The former WWE Champion joined other celebrity presenters such as Snooki and JWoww of The Jersey Shore, David Hasselhoff and Hayden Panettiere.

I was a little taller than Bieber. But all the teenage girls and teeny boppers love him. It was fun,” Sheamus said. “It was great to see how excited he was when I gave him the award.”

Sheamus was especially excited to be a part of the MTV 2011 EMAs because they were in native Ireland.

“It was a big deal for me. Plus, it was in Ireland. I got a chance to go to Belfast. Any chance to go home across the sea to go back home to Ireland is a great opportunity for me,” he said.

November 8th Team Orton vs. Team Barrett (5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Tag Team Match)
Post Discussion: Add / View Comments?
Post Categories: Pay-Per-Views,Previews. Published by Jasmina

Announced exclusively on WWE.com, WWE’s second longest-running pay-per-view event will feature one of its signature bouts when Team Orton takes on Team Barrett inside the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden, on Sunday, Nov. 20.

Orton will lead Sheamus, Mason Ryan, WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston and Sin Cara into battle, while Barrett brings Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, Christian, Jack Swagger and Hunico.

The bout harkens back to last year’s Survivor Series showdown between Orton and Barrett, when The Viper defeated Barrett in a brutal contest to retain his WWE Championship – even though doing so temporarily forced John Cena out of WWE.

Since then, outside of a three-month reign as Intercontinental Champion in 2011, Barrett has been looking for his chance to shine. WWE’s fall classic could be the very opportunity he has been waiting for. Clearly, Barrett knows how to lead. As head of the renegade group Nexus (formed in 2010), he orchestrated countless, brutal attacks on a host of Superstars. When things broke down within Nexus, Barrett found a new role within The Corre in early 2011. Although its members denied they had any leader, clearly Barrett was the driving force behind the group’s actions before it disbanded. Then, when a slew of Superstars expressed their grievances about how Triple H was managing Raw last month, it was Barrett who was elected to speak first on the night they all walked out on Raw.

However, Barrett has his work cut out for him if he thinks his team can simply overcome those guided by WWE’s Apex Predator, who also has shown he has what it takes to lead.

As head of The Legacy, The Viper guided and brought Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes into prominence in WWE. Now bitter rivals – with recent cutthroat matches – Rhodes and Orton will certainly be looking to lock horns in the ring at Survivor Series.

Perhaps even more valuable than his leadership skills, Orton brings direct Survivor Series experience to the table. The Viper led a Survivor Series team to victory in 2004, and competed on winning teams in 2003 and 2005. Furthermore, even though his team lost in 2009 when The Viper was pinned by Kingston, he now has Kofi as part of his arsenal when he goes to war this time.

In addition to Kingston, Orton brings more weaponry to the fight with the ruthless Sheamus, powerhouse Mason Ryan and the high-flying Sin Cara.

On the other side of the battle line, Barrett brings the confidence of the Intercontinental Champion, the veteran skills of former World Heavyweight Champion Christian, the tenacity of former World Champion Jack Swagger and a high-flyer of his own in Hunico.

Find out which group of ring warriors will claim victory at one of WWE’s most exciting events of the year. Catch Survivor Series Sunday, Nov. 20, live at 8 p.m. ET/5 PT, only on pay-per-view.
